FIR/Anytime Fitness Challenge May 3rd 2008

Hello All,

I am so proud of the work you all put in to make this weekend's fitness challenge a success. This event was all about the effort. I am please to announce that each person took their fitness level to new heights by stepping up to the challenge we designed for you. I am sooooooooooooooo excited about this program and the direction we are all headed in. Congratulations to all who participated in the challenge. I am truly proud of each of you. Our May 3rd competition yielded several victories.

The Strength Endurance Push Up Challenge was a test of each individual’s muscular ability to complete and hold multiple push ups. This event provided a measure of your upper body strength and endurance. The cadence of the push up changed with each flexion and extension. The rules were simple. If you stop or intentionally fell out of cadence at any time, you were disqualified. The last 3 women and the last 3 men battled it out until we had a clear champion. This event awarded 6 people.

First Place Winners: Andy and Mary
Second Place Winners: Mike and Shakera
Third Place Winners: Dennis and Diana
Honorable Mention at 1st place: Blake Sloan completed a personal best of 32 Push ups!

Cardiovascular Speed Shuttle Challenge was designed to test each individual’s cardiovascular speed. This event provided a measure of your speed, quickness, and agility. You ran as fast as you could back and forth to each cone. You used your quickness and agility to navigate each turn. Once you were done, you tagged your partner’s hand. The pair with the fast time won. This event will award the top 6 pairs.

First Place Winners: Team Thrasher and Team Tasha's Girls
Second Place Winners: Team Racer X and Team Excel
Third Place Winners: Team Under Rated and Team Dream

Strength Agility Circuit Challenge was a test of your total body conditioning. This event measured each participant’s upper and lower body strength, agility, quickness, core, and speed. You used everything you had to push your way through each station. The circuit included military press, squats, mountain climbers, sit-ups, and more. We awarded the first, second, and third place teams completing the circuit the fastest.

First Place Winners: Team Thrashers
Second Place Winners: Team Tasha's Girls
Third Place Winners: Team 1 11

Wow what a day! Now that I know what you are capable of...the best is yet to come! Let's continue to Bring it On!

Thanks for the confidence building Tasha. A year ago I wouldn't have considered attempting what we did on Saturday. Love the gang and love the work outs. Keep pushing us.
